Battery Swapping Stations for Fleets & Sites

Battery swapping stations from Zeway: swap a two-wheeler battery in under a minute instead of waiting hours. Free site survey in Delhi NCR, Jaipur and Lucknow.

Why a swap beats waiting for a charge

Every Zeway scooter carries a detachable battery that charges from an ordinary 16A, 220V socket, and a full charge normally takes four to six hours. That is perfectly workable overnight at home. It is not workable at seven in the evening in the middle of a delivery shift, or for a rider in a multi-storey flat where the parking has no charging point in the cellar. Swapping removes the wait: the rider hands over the flat pack, picks up a charged one and carries on. The charging still happens, but it happens to the battery at the station rather than to the vehicle at the kerb.

Who swapping suits, and who is better off with a charger

Swapping earns its place where vehicles must keep moving and standing still costs money: delivery and service delivery companies, food chains, last-mile operators and campuses running shared two-wheelers. Zeway works as a mobility partner with corporates, educational institutions, universities, city development authorities, railways, metro, food chains, service delivery companies and housing societies, and offers rental schemes to SMEs, PSUs and government bodies. Residential societies are a natural fit too, where swapping facilities sit alongside charging stations that need no extra connection from the common meter. Swapping does not apply to cars and e-rickshaws; for those, Zeway charging stations are the answer, and the useful question is how long the vehicle actually stays parked.

What Zeway does, and what you provide

Zeway supplies, installs and maintains the equipment. You provide the space and the power connection. Under the zero-investment model Zeway supplies, installs, operates and maintains the station and you share in the revenue it earns; if you would rather own the asset, we supply and install on a straightforward purchase basis with an annual maintenance contract. Either way the starting point is the same: a free site survey, with an eligibility check on the location and a look at the load you actually have, so the recommendation matches the site rather than a catalogue.

Which option fits your operation

For a two-wheeler operation the fit is usually the rental subscription rather than hardware you buy, because the swappable battery, the unlimited swaps and the servicing all come with the vehicle. Zeway Lite is capped at 25 km/h with a 30 to 40 km range and needs no driving licence, the usual pick for students and office staff. Zeway Plus carries a 3 kWh battery for 90 to 100 km at 45 to 50 km/h, and Zeway Prime holds the same range at 55 km/h for riders covering the whole city; both require a valid licence. Where the site also serves cars, choose the charger by how long a vehicle genuinely stays parked, not by how fast the unit sounds on paper.

Questions we are asked

What is a battery swapping station?

A battery swapping station is a point where the rider of an electric two-wheeler exchanges a depleted battery for a fully charged one instead of plugging the vehicle in and waiting. At a Zeway station the swap takes under a minute, against the four to six hours a full charge normally takes on an ordinary 16A socket. The depleted pack is charged at the station afterwards, while the vehicle is back on the road.

Is battery swapping better than charging for a fleet?

It depends on whether the vehicle can afford to stand still. Swapping suits two-wheeler fleets where a scooter standing still is a scooter not earning, while charging suits vehicles that park for a predictable stretch, such as a car at an office or a scooter overnight at home. The same site can do both, since Zeway charging stations serve e-scooters, e-cars and e-rickshaws alongside swapping facilities.

Where does Zeway operate battery swapping and charging stations?

Zeway charging stations are installed across Delhi NCR and in Delhi NCR, Kanpur, Jaipur, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar. Battery swapping comes with the two-wheeler rental subscriptions, which include unlimited swaps, and swapping facilities are set up at partner sites such as housing societies. Support for repairs and recharging runs across Delhi NCR, Kanpur, Jaipur, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar. If a site sits outside these areas, share the address and the team will assess whether it can be reached.

What does a site owner have to provide?

Space and a power connection. Under the zero-investment model Zeway supplies, installs, operates and maintains the station and the site owner shares in the revenue it earns; sites that prefer to own the equipment can buy and install it with an annual maintenance contract. For a charging hub, a minimum of a 50 square feet area is required to start off, and a free site survey confirms whether the location is suitable before anything is committed.
