A highway site is a stop, not a car park

Much of Zeway's charging sits where vehicles are already parked for hours, such as housing societies, offices and campuses. A highway property is the opposite. The driver has pulled off the road in order to charge, and everything else, whether tea, a toilet or a tyre check, happens around the charge. That changes which charger makes sense and how the bay is laid out, but it also means the footfall you already have is the asset.

Which charger suits a highway stop

The right charger depends on how long vehicles actually stay at your site, not on how fast the charger sounds on paper. On a highway they do not stay, so this is DC territory. Fast charging is usually above 30 kW, while anything between 1 and 22 kW counts as slow charging and belongs where a vehicle is parked for hours. Zeway's DC units use the CCS2 connector.

What kind of charger does a highway fuel station need?

A highway site needs DC fast charging, because vehicles stop only for as long as the charge takes rather than parking for hours. Zeway supplies DC 30 kW, 60 kW and 120 kW chargers on the CCS2 connector, with the 120 kW unit being the usual choice for a high-traffic site on a busy corridor. AC chargers of 3.3 kW to 22 kW are slow charging and belong where a vehicle stays put, such as an office, a campus or a housing society.

How much space and power does a highway EV charging station need?

A minimum of 50 square feet is required to start a charging station, along with a power connection at the site and room for vehicles to pull in and out. Zeway carries out a free site survey to measure the available load, check the location's eligibility and recommend only what the site genuinely needs, so you are not quoted a charger the supply cannot feed.

Does the property owner have to buy the charger?

No. Under Zeway's zero-investment model, Zeway supplies, installs, operates and maintains the station while the property owner provides the space and the power connection and shares in the charging revenue. Owners who would rather hold the asset can instead buy the charger outright, supplied and installed by Zeway with an annual maintenance contract.

Can one highway station charge cars, e-rickshaws and two-wheelers?

Yes. Zeway charging stations can be used by e-scooters, e-cars and e-rickshaws, and multiple vehicles can be charged at the same time. Drivers start a session by swipe card, scan code or the Zeway app, and usage is tracked per unit consumed so the site can bill accordingly.
